Happy October! My house is officially decorated for Halloween and I love that.
Now here’s what happened since last Friday.

The glow of the moon between the palm trees at MOCA Plaza on Friday night.
Friday we went to Jazz at MOCA to watch Electro Dub Tango. Vance and I went with Nick and his friend Geno because it was also the Best Buddies Citizens Miami group outing so while they hung out with the Best Buddies crew up front we took seats in the back. After the show we all went to Steve’s Pizza to grab a late dinner. Steve’s is always a solid choice, their slices are enormous and delicious. It’s a classic that’s been around 50 years.
Surfside beach on Saturday afternoon. I’ve been going here for years and the view never gets old.
Saturday I went for a late afternoon dip at Surfside Beach then that night I had dinner with my friends Madelyn, Janet and Betty at Bombay Darbar, an Indian restaurant in Coconut Grove. The food was phenomenal as always and It was so great catching up with them. It was long overdue outing and a wonderful evening with great friends.
Sunday Monica and I went to Sesame Bakery, a newish place in North Miami’s Sole MIA community. It’s very dainty and pink which Monica loved and also is much more than a bakery. They serve mezze platters, latkes, sandwiches and lots of brunch items. It’s run by the owners of Motek Cafe a great chain of Israeli/Mediterranean restaurants. Afterwards, we attended the opening reception of the “Cats” exhibition at Bridge Red Studios where I saw lots of familiar faces. They got quite a crowd. It’s a great show featuring works by 45 artists and sales benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami. The show runs through Nov. 9.

Monday night Nick and Vance went to and I watched at home, the Miami Dolphins beat the NY Jets! They won their first game, yay! Then on Tuesday before Vance drove up to Merritt Island, we got takeout lunch from Little Havana Restaurant in North Miami, one of our favorite spots. For those of you in Broward, they also have locations in Deerfield Beach and Coral Springs.
And now some congratulations are in order:
First to my nephew Andy Davila and his brother Danny who both worked on the HULU show “Chad Rogers” which is streaming now. Check it out, I’ve watched the first two episodes and it’s very entertaining. Also, Danny was a co-producer on the upcoming Christmas movie “All is Merry & Bright,” which will be released in theaters on Nov. 7.
Congratulations also to my neighbor Carlos for his International Emmy Award nomination for “Las Azules” (Women in Blue) an AppleTV series.
