‘Twas the Saturday before Christmas…

And all through the house, things were pretty quiet since the last blog.

Saturday, I spent several hours at a holiday themed food distribution with Food Rescue US South Florida at Centro Mater in Little Havana. Santa made an appearance, toys were distributed as was lots and lots of food. The rain didn’t stop lots of needy families from showing up and they were so appreciative of everything they received!

The kids from Centro Mater in Little Havana made thank you cards for all the volunteers at Saturday’s food distribution. This is the cute one I got to bring home.

Yesterday, I went to lunch at Flanigan’s with my sister Mari, she’d been wanting to treat me for my birthday and that’s the place I chose. I’d been telling her how amazing the ribs there are and she enjoyed every last one. I ordered my usual fish dip and also got the chicken wing lunch special. I brought almost all the chicken wings home and the dirty rice I ordered with it. Great leftovers!

Aside from that it was a quiet week. I wrote a few posts for the Artburst Miami blog and did a great interview with a couple of filmmakers that are the subject of my next article.

I also did a bit of Christmas shopping this week and am looking forward to a wonderful weekend celebrating Nochebuena and Christmas with my family.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend with your loved ones!
