Family and friends edition

Today’s post is going to be short and sweet but still packed with good news and new things to read and places to visit.

I called it family and friends because that’s what all the photos are going to be. An homage to my great nieces and nephews Isabelle and Chase who are my nephew Chris’s kids and Ashley who is my nephew Tony’s daughter. And by the way, Chris and Tony are brothers.

Isabelle and her sunscreen project, duck lips and all!

Here’s a picture of Isabelle with her award-winning science project where she reported on the hazards of certain types of sunscreens and the ones that are safe and sustainably produced.

Chase standing proudly in front of his project.

That’s my Yaya and Yayo in the front, surrounded by my siblings and cousins, my Mom and Dad in the back and my aunt Fela on the right in the polka dot dress.

Next is her brother Chase who did a project on Cuba and used a photo of my siblings and my paternal Spanish grandparents Yayo and Yaya in his project. I remember that photograph well from when my Mom and I would look through old photographs of the family in Havana.

Hazel and Tony at Monster Truck Jam!

Next up is their cousin Hazel whose pictured with her Dad Tony at the monster truck jam. Love seeing a pic of their father/daughter bonding time and also how much she’s grown!

Here we are, all smiles after a much needed catch up brunch/lunch.

On the left is a spicy margarita, Michelle’s choice and on the right a combo frozen daiquiri/pina colada called “The Miami Vice” which was Ita’s choice.

And today I snuck away for a fun early afternoon lunch with Michelle and Ita at Bayside Marketplace where we had brunchy food and cocktails at Bacon Bitch. I had a tasty avocado toast with a fried egg on top and a mimosa made with cranberry instead of the traditional orange juice. We had a great time catching up and walking around Bayside. It’s always fun hanging with those two!

Here’s Ita with Jason Momoa at his Meili vodka tour stop at Gulf Liquors and that’s the baseball cap they’re both sporting!

And here’s Michelle with Aquaman himself!

Before the lunch, Michelle and Ita met Aquaman himself Jason Momoa at Gulf Liquors, one of Miami Beach’s oldest liquor stores, where he was promoting his new Meili vodka brand. They got a selfie with the handsome actor and some swag, baseball caps with a pin of the vodka bottle.

And finally, here’s my most recent article on Artburst Miami which I hope you’ll enjoy, click here to read it and a final parting photo of a little greenery I gathered from our yard to make a cute arrangement which sits in the bathroom. It really brightens it up.

Have a fantastic weekend, see you next Friday!
